Average show
Helpful review Sunderstorm.... next time you debunk a show, try to be helpful and give others who might or might not download it based on your review more than simply that its "not recomended". That was infered by your one star rating, expand upon that or go away.
Quality AUD recording, quality setlist, decent performance for 1985.
Jerry is deteriorating vocally but not too many guitar flubs at this show. Doesn't compare in quality with the Rocks 1982 sets or the 1979 sets but still worth a download since it is truley a quality AUD.
Great setlist all around, Half-Step, Esau, Duprees, Crazy Fingers, Fantasy, Baby Blue. Dosn't mean everything is performed exelently. Vocals on all counts make it an "average" nite.
Bobby and Brent do what they can but Jerry is paining. Crazy Fingers vocals are embarrising (why did they even bring back this song, they shut it in 1976).
Another complaint about the second set is that it feels rushed. Second set should be a time to slow things down a bit from the "song slot" first set. This show follows a second set formula and each song just feels like they are peforming each song to get done and get out.
Not a bad show, but certainly uninspired for red rocks.

where's my shoes
Oh, the sounds... I literally danced my shoes off at this one. The group hug during Comes a Time, and then one shoe on the other gone, stumbling into the rock and glass parking lot to learn my ride had left. Barefoot and nowhere to go. My pack was in their car; they had picked me up in north Boulder. But then, when it seemed all vehicles had faded into the night, a pair of headlights approached. They, total strangers, realized they had left me and drove upstream to recover my sorry ass and bleeding feet. Oh, the pain. Oh, the love.

Such a light touch
Maybe it's the altitude? There is a definite lighthearted feel to this one. The sound quality is excellent, and contributes to the overall clarity. You can hear smiles coming out of the speakers. Excellent AUD recording, and some fantastic slide guitar work in the first set. Lovely!

Best of '85
This 3rd day of the Red Rocks 1985 run ranks as one of the best outdoor concerts I have ever witnessed, and until now I had only a shoddy old analog AUD of it. This nicely remastered AUD brings it all back - from the lunacy of the Frozen Logger that showed the band to be having as much fun as those of us between the Rocks, to the bouncy-steppin' Shakedown St, followed by a sparkling Crazy Fingers that sounds for a few golden moments like the Dead of the early '70s. The whole 2nd set really flows with pure Dead goodness. One of the great latter-day Grateful Dead concerts in a world-class setting. YUMMY!
